Sisterhood

The Sisterhood of Temple Beth Shalom is an auxiliary organization of multigenerational women dedicated to family, synagogue and community. This group of women with diverse interests hold monthly meetings to learn about our Jewish heritage, contribute to the community and have a good time.

The Sisterhood has hosted wine tastings, spa days, and yard sales. We coordinate the annual community Seder held on the second night of Passover. These talented woman bake hamentaschen to mail to our college students and deliver to the more mature members of our congregation. They have pooled their favorite recipes to create a temple cookbook as a fundraiser. The sisterhood has raised funds for many charitable causes and for "Israel Incentive" grants to temple youth for their Birthright Israel trips.

We invite all women to join the Sisterhood, even if not Jewish or a member of the temple, by sending $36 payable to TBS Sisterhood, and mailing to P.O. Box 9142, Hickory, NC 28603.
